Overview
Apex Skill Tips is a free Android application designed to help users improve their skills across six key life areas: productivity, mindset, fitness, finance, learning, and social skills. The app delivers curated, research-backed tips to help users grow 1% better every day.
Short version: Apex Skill Tips does not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information on external servers. All user preferences are stored locally on your device only. We do not sell your data. We do not track you. We do not show ads.
This policy applies solely to the Apex Skill Tips Android application available on Google Play. It does not apply to any third-party websites or services that may be linked to or from the app.
Information We Collect
Apex Skill Tips is designed with a privacy-first approach. We collect minimal information and what we do store stays entirely on your device.
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The app uses Android's SharedPreferences system to store the following data locally on your device:

Important: None of this data is associated with your identity, device ID, email address, or any other personally identifiable information. It is purely functional preference data stored in key-value format.
Local Storage (SharedPreferences)
Our app uses Android's built-in SharedPreferences API to persist your settings across sessions. This is a standard Android mechanism that stores simple key-value pairs in a private area of the app's storage on your device.
How It Works
When you save a tip as a favorite, toggle dark mode, or adjust notification settings, the app writes these preferences locally. When you reopen the app, it reads these preferences to restore your customized experience.
Your Control Over Local Data
You can clear all locally stored app data at any time by:
- Going to your device Settings → Apps → Apex Skill Tips → Storage → Clear Data
- Uninstalling the application, which removes all associated local data permanently
Note: Clearing app data or uninstalling the app will remove all your saved favorites and preferences. This data is not backed up to any cloud service, so it cannot be restored.
What We Do Not Collect
We want to be crystal clear about what Apex Skill Tips does not do:
- ❌ We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
- ❌ We do not collect your device's unique identifiers (IMEI, Android ID, Advertising ID)
- ❌ We do not collect your IP address or geographic location
- ❌ We do not track your usage behavior, session duration, or in-app actions
- ❌ We do not collect crash reports or diagnostic data autonomously
- ❌ We do not display advertisements of any kind
- ❌ We do not sell, rent, share, or transfer any user data to third parties
- ❌ We do not use cookies or tracking technologies
- ❌ We do not require account registration or login
- ❌ We do not connect to any external servers or APIs during normal use
- ❌ We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or files
- ❌ We do not use analytics SDKs (e.g. Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude)
Third-Party Services
Apex Skill Tips does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The application does not make any network requests to external servers during normal operation.
Google Play Services
As the app is distributed through Google Play, Google may collect certain information as part of the standard Play Store experience (such as app install counts, crash reports submitted through Play, and aggregate usage statistics). This data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and is not controlled by us.
Push Notifications: If you enable push notifications, the app uses Android's built-in notification system. No third-party push notification service (e.g. Firebase Cloud Messaging) is currently used. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device.
No Advertising Networks
Apex Skill Tips contains absolutely no advertisements and integrates with no advertising networks, affiliate programs, or sponsored content systems. The app is and will remain entirely ad-free.
Children's Privacy
Apex Skill Tips does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The app does not require any account creation, personal information submission, or identity verification from any user, regardless of age.
Because the app does not collect any personal data from users, it does not pose a privacy risk to children. The content within the app is educational and appropriate for general audiences.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us in any way, please contact us at the email address below and we will promptly address your concern.
COPPA Compliance: As we collect no personal information from any users (including children), Apex Skill Tips is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar international regulations.
App Permissions
Apex Skill Tips requests only the minimum permissions necessary for its core functionality. Below is a complete list of permissions and why they are needed:

We will update this section if new permissions are required in future app versions, and we will always explain clearly why any new permission is needed.
Data Security
Because Apex Skill Tips does not transmit any user data to external servers, the primary security considerations relate to the device-local data stored via SharedPreferences.
Local Data Security
SharedPreferences data is stored in the app's private storage directory, which is only accessible to the Apex Skill Tips application itself. No other apps can read this data unless your device is rooted.
No Network Transmission
Since no user data ever leaves your device, there is no risk of data interception, man-in-the-middle attacks, or server-side data breaches affecting your information within this app.
Best Practices: We recommend keeping your Android device updated with the latest security patches and using device-level security features (screen lock, encryption) to protect all data stored on your device, including app preferences.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding personal data. While we collect no personal data, we respect and support these rights:
Right to Access
You may request information about what data we hold about you. As we hold no personally identifiable data, we will confirm this upon request.
Right to Deletion
You may delete all locally stored app data at any time by clearing app data in your device settings or uninstalling the app.
GDPR (European Users)
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provides additional rights. Since Apex Skill Tips collects no personal data as defined under GDPR, there is no personal data to access, correct, export, or erase beyond the local preferences on your device.
CCPA (California Users)
For California residents, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides rights regarding personal information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not collect personal information as defined by CCPA. You have the right to request disclosure of the categories of personal information we collect — the answer is: none.
India (DPDP Act)
For users in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies. We do not process any personal data as defined by this Act. If that changes, we will update this policy and seek appropriate consent.
Data Retention
The only data associated with your use of Apex Skill Tips is the local preference data stored on your device via SharedPreferences. This data is retained on your device until:
- You clear the app's data through your device's app settings
- You uninstall the application
- You perform a factory reset of your device
We have no mechanism to retain or access this data from our side, as it never leaves your device. There is no server-side database associated with Apex Skill Tips.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app's features or applicable legal requirements. When we make changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- Update the policy linked from the Google Play Store listing
- Where required by law, provide in-app notification of significant changes
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Apex Skill Tips is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Apex Skill Tips and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the application.
Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of competent courts.
